Death is an inevitable cycle. But sickness before death is a symptom of resistance. Most people think they’ve got to get sick to die. But, you could be like the cat who chooses to get run over. Or you could just lie down in your bed happily one night, so content and thoughtless, wanting nothing in this physical world; and just reemerge into Pure Positive Energy… You can play it out any way you choose.

A thought-provoking piece of wisdom today:  That we have the power to choose how we’re going to check out of this physical world and reemerge into Pure Positive Energy.  And that sickness before death is merely (mirror-ly?) a symptom of resistance to entering the hereafter.
And as always, I match this thought against my experiences.
I think of my grandmother and others who seemed like they were just waiting to die, begging to die.  Her mind was sharp; her body had deteriorated.  Of course, in Grandma’s case, there may have been also a fear of facing the hereafter.  She was a very religious person, and her fear of God and harsh judgment for her sins came to the forefront, instead of images of a welcoming, loving, and compassionate Being of Light greeting her.   She perceived that suffering was her ‘due,’ what she deserved because of her past transgressions.  (She was a gifted, smart, direct woman; an inspiration.)  She passed at the age of 97.  Was there an earlier and easier out?
And then I think of my sister and others who seemed to leave way before their time.  Did a much bigger, non-physical part of her choose her early exit?  Laura had told us how she did not want to live, ever.  Following her wishes–allowing her to go–released her into Pure Positive Energy.  The conscious, physical Laura would never leave her husband or kids.  Our souls, though, have their own path lessons and work–and perhaps much of it is on the hereafter side.
And then there’s my dad.  His condition was irreversible.  Treatment was an option to postpone the inevitable.  He said no, and chose hospice instead.  A longer life does not make it a better quality of life.

As great as the human person is, we cannot create life and we cannot prevent death.

So how do you want to live?  and not live?  And what about choosing how you check-out?  Maybe it’s a conversation worth having with those who may be affected?
One doesn’t always have a living will or medical power of attorney; and knowing someone’s check-out preferences may determine whether one calls an ambulance (whose directive is resuscitate) or a hospice worker or simply holds sacred space for natural causes to release one into Pure Positive Energy.
With our knowledge of drugs these days, prolonging suffering is also senseless.  We help our pets transition peacefully when it’s time; what about ourselves?
This earthly existence and these physical bodies are temporary…  Important, yes.  Soul lessons to learn; sacred contracts to carry out; creations to leave behind; earthly delights to experience…and choices to make. We make a difference.
Energy lasts for ever; our spirit energy…part of Pure Positive Energy.  Love and light.  – Anne
